Continues to Stockholm

The walk from Trosa to Stockholm is 136 km, walking through sparsely populated forests and farmland all the way.
Sections 56-62 are close to the coast, passing Tullgarn Royal Palace. These sections continue to offer a gentle mix of forest and farmland, even though hilly in places, adding wide and beautiful views. When you reach section 62 you’ll hear the sound of long-distance trains rushing through tunnels and pass some busy roads, but otherwise there’s hardly anything that resembles a city until you reach the Stockholm suburb of Handen on section 5. Thereafter you continue through forests that are remarkably empty of people, but rich in wildlife; a national park with virgin forest and several nature reserves. It’s not until you’re nearing the underground station that the city presents itself – by way of a fairly rural golf course.
