The trail follows the road to Harpsund for a few hundred metres before branching off into the woods. Those wanting to visit Harpsund and take a look at the famous boat, must leave the trail and follow the main road for about 1.5 km.
The trail crosses Viks stream at several places. The idyllic Hedsjön Lake can be appreciated from a vantage point. On the northeastern side of the lake there is a shelter and toilet, and about one km further on there is a natural spring.
The trail continues further north through old overgrown farmland. At Rösjötorp cottage ruins the remains of a stonelined pit, that was probably used for flax preparation, are visible.
The section up towards Hälleforsnäs consists of old large forests with many old charcoal pits and the ruins of a charcoal burner´s hut can also be seen beside the trail. The foundry in Hälleforsnäs consumed large quantities of charcoal and many of the paths we use are old routes for transporting charcoal. The charcoal store house in Hälleforsnäs is an unusual building that is now protected as a Heritage site.
This section ends west of at the Bruksdammen pond.
